PYP ADOPTION CENTER located at The Freehold Raceway Mall
Located on the lower level outside of Sears
If you’re curious about how things will work at the new Adoption Center, here ‘s what you need to know:
1) Will you have cats available for adoption?
YES!! Even though Pick Your Paw is a dog-only rescue, we want to help cats, too! So we’re partnering with All Fur Love Rescue and Meow, Inc., to fill up the Cat Room with sweet, cuddly adoptable cats and kittens ready to join your family!
2) Will you have puppies available at the Adoption Center?
Yes! When you visit, you’ll find a corral full of snuggly, adorable puppies. You’ll also find awesome adult dogs and super-sweet Seniors!! Look through our photo album of adoptables in the Center or on Facebook to see all currently available dogs.
3) Can I adopt a dog and take it home that same day?
Nope, and here’s why: We truly care about making the very best matches for our pups AND our adoptive families, so we take the time to make sure it’s the right fit. Before you can take home your new best friend, our adoption counselor will work through our adoption process with you to make sure it’s a match made in heaven. We know you may be disappointed that you can’t take the dog home the day you fall in love, but it’s super important that your love lasts forever, so we take a few extra steps just to be sure.
4) What’s the process for adoption?
Once you find a puppy or dog you’re interested in, fill out an adoption application and turn it in. Our Adoption Counselor will review your application, check your references, and be in touch to arrange a home visit. If you have other pets we will bring your Potential New Best Friend to your home (or a neutral spot) so we can introduce the Fur Kids and make sure everyone is on board for their new family member. This process can take a few days depending on schedules, so be patient and remember – Great things are worth waiting for!
5) Can I fill out an adoption application and be a Pre-Approved Adopter?
Yes! If we don’t have the perfect dog for you right now, you can go ahead and submit your application to become pre-approved. We’ll get all our pre-match checks done ahead of time so when you find the dog you want, you’ll be ready to go!
6) Do you still need foster homes?
YES PLEASE!!!! We always need foster homes, for both adult dogs and puppies. We also need short-term foster homes to care for dogs just coming into our foster. They need 2 weeks to rest and for us to be sure they’re healthy before they can hang out at our Adoption Center. Please email us at email@example.com or call Tammy at 908-433-1796 if you are interested in fostering!
7) Can I volunteer at the Pick Your Paw Adoption Center?
Yes! We would love to have your help to pet the dogs, love on the cats, clean cages, and more! Please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org for a volunteer application or stop by and visit us on Dec 2nd at the Freehold mall (downstairs by Sears)!!
